On the 5th, the Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that they had sent Lee (26) to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office in custody on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act (psychotropic substances).

The police also obtained an arrest warrant for accomplice A, who is suspected of committing the crime together with Lee in China, and plan to request a red notice from Interpol.

According to the police, Lee is accused of conspiring with domestic and foreign accomplices in China to manufacture and distribute the so-called 'drug beverage,' a mixture of methamphetamine and milk.

Following Lee's instructions, the accomplices held a fake tasting event targeting middle and high school students in the academy district of Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, on April 3 last year, deceiving 13 minors by presenting the drug beverage as a concentration-enhancing drink.

Lee is also accused of threatening the parents of the students who consumed the drug beverage to extort money.

Immediately after the incident, at the request of the Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, an Interpol red notice was issued for Lee, and a hotline with the Chinese Ministry of Public Security was activated through the police attach? at the Chinese embassy to track him down.

Lee was arrested by Chinese public security at a hideout in Jilin Province on May 24 last year and was extradited to South Korea last month, seven months after his arrest.

The police stated, "We will continue to thoroughly investigate serious criminals who provide narcotics to youth and make every effort to ensure they receive the severest punishment."
