Following the signing of a 'Business Agreement on Expanding Overseas Golf Markets and Promoting Robot Business' with SmartScore in July, LG Electronics has now achieved tangible results. SmartScore, a golf course operation solution provider, chose LG Electronics' robot solutions to enter and differentiate itself in golf course businesses across six Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

SmartScore will install and operate the robots and solutions supplied by LG Electronics at local golf courses in Southeast Asia. The 'LG CLOi GuideBot' and 'LG CLOi ServeBot' will meet customers and provide services in various spaces such as golf courses, resorts, and hotels.

Customers can conveniently check in and check out at golf courses and hotels using the LG CLOi GuideBot. They can also instantly check their ongoing golf game scores on the device screen. Additionally, customers can purchase related products such as golf apparel and equipment directly from the screen while moving and receive directions to their destinations.

LG Electronics plans to collaborate with SmartScore to obtain each country's standards and certifications. The company will also focus on developing robot language packs and expanding its product lineup. Furthermore, they will cooperate in service planning and pilot projects.

Ryu-chan Noh, Head of LG Electronics' Robot Business (Senior Vice President), said, "Based on the excellent performance of LG CLOi robots, we will successfully enter the Southeast Asian golf course vertical market," adding, "We will strive to plan and develop new businesses utilizing robots."

Meanwhile, according to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) report, the global service robot market size is expected to grow from $36.2 billion in 2021 to $103.3 billion in 2026, with an average annual growth rate of 23%. LG Electronics has chosen robots as a key future business and is presenting customized solutions for various spaces such as hotels, hospitals, and food and beverage (F&B) sectors. The company is expanding its business into overseas markets including North America and Japan.
