On the 4th, SK Bioscience announced that President Ahn encouraged participation from domestic and international partner organizations, companies, stakeholders, and employees by posting photos of his challenge participation on SK Bioscience’s official LinkedIn channel and the company’s internal bulletin board.

The Single-Use Products Zero Challenge is a campaign launched by the Ministry of Environment in February last year, aimed at reducing carbon emissions caused by single-use products and promoting the habitual use of reusable products to create a sustainable environment. Participants post photos on social media (SNS) symbolizing their commitment to reduce single-use product usage to zero, and then nominate the next participants to continue the challenge.

Having been nominated by Won-jik Lee, CEO of Lotte Biologics, President Ahn nominated Jeong-seok Lee, Chairman of the Korea BioPharmaceutical Association, Dohyun Kim, CEO of SK D&D, and Seung-joo Kim, CEO of SK Plasma, as the next participants.

SK Bioscience is fostering an eco-friendly culture within the company through measures such as using tumblers and mugs, using eco-friendly biodegradable straws, adopting a paperless system, and eliminating food waste. Additionally, the company is actively responding to climate change based on its ‘2031 Net Zero Roadmap.’ Employees also voluntarily engage in volunteer activities such as making eco-friendly kits using recycled and leftover materials.

President Ahn said, “Participating in the challenge allowed me to reflect on the important meaning that a sustainable future begins with small practices in daily life,” and added, “Going forward, SK Bioscience will do its best to advance ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management so that it can realize both economic value (EV) and social value (SV) as Korea’s leading vaccine company.”
