Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical Launches New Product Minolnose S Nasal Spray... Rapid Relief from Nasal Congestion

Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical announced on the 4th that it has launched a new product, ‘Minolnose S Nasal Spray’.

A representative from Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical stated, “The new product Minolnose S Nasal Spray shows faster and longer-lasting effects compared to the existing Minolnose Nasal Spray,” adding, “As a combination of oxymetazoline hydrochloride (a decongestant) and chlorpheniramine maleate (an antihistamine), it is expected to effectively treat common cold and rhinitis.”

The new Minolnose S Nasal Spray is a successor to the Minolnose Nasal Spray, which was launched in November 2017.

One of the main ingredients, oxymetazoline hydrochloride, constricts the blood vessels of the swollen nasal mucosa and reduces blood flow, thereby widening the narrowed airways inside the nose caused by congestion and swelling of the nasal mucosa. This helps relieve symptoms such as nasal congestion, postnasal drip, and clear nasal discharge.

In particular, oxymetazoline hydrochloride has the advantages of faster onset time and longer duration compared to xylometazoline hydrochloride, the decongestant ingredient in the company’s existing product Minolnose Nasal Spray.

Another key ingredient, chlorpheniramine maleate, suppresses the action of histamine involved in allergic reactions, making it effective against runny nose, itching, and sneezing.

By adding the antihistamine chlorpheniramine maleate, Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical explained that a complementary effect with the decongestant oxymetazoline can be expected.

Minolnose S Nasal Spray can be used by individuals aged 7 and older. The usage instructions are to spray once into each nostril three times a day, with at least a 3-hour interval between each use. Each bottle contains 20ml and is available only at pharmacies as an over-the-counter drug.

A company representative said, “This new product has the advantages of faster onset time and longer duration compared to the existing product,” and added, “Consumers suffering from nasal congestion and allergic rhinitis in their busy daily lives will be able to experience quick and convenient relief with a clear and refreshed nose.”

Meanwhile, Minolnose S Nasal Spray is available only at pharmacies as an over-the-counter drug.
