Asphalt manufacturing company SG (SG, CEO Park Chang-ho) is accelerating its business expansion by consecutively signing supply contracts for Eco Steel Asphalt destined for Ukraine.
The company announced on the 3rd through a public disclosure that it had signed a contract to supply approximately 17.8 billion KRW (12.5 million euros) worth of Eco Steel Asphalt to LLC Eurobud Plus until 2026. This achievement follows last month's supply contract with Ukraine's DS Prom Group LLC, marking another milestone.
LLC Eurobud Plus, established in 2007, is a construction company currently engaged in road maintenance projects in Kyiv and Dnipro regions of Ukraine. It also operates businesses such as construction machinery and equipment rental, as well as residential and non-residential building construction.
SG has been continuously communicating with Ukrainian government agencies and private companies to explore ways to cooperate in the reconstruction efforts of Ukraine, which has suffered significant damage due to the war. Recently, by consecutively signing Eco Steel Asphalt supply contracts, the total contract volume for Ukraine has expanded to approximately 35.6 billion KRW. Alongside this, the company is focusing on building infrastructure for business expansion, including establishing a corporation within Ukraine and preparing production systems.
SG's 'Eco Steel Asphalt' product, supplied to steel powerhouse Ukraine, is an eco-friendly asphalt that utilizes slag, an industrial byproduct generated during the steelmaking process. It offers advantages in quality and maintenance costs compared to conventional asphalt. Domestically, it has already been registered with public institutions such as the Korea Water Resources Corporation and the Korea Expressway Corporation, and has been designated as a procurement item by the Public Procurement Service, recognized as a next-generation asphalt product.
Park Chang-ho, CEO of SG, stated, “With the consecutive supply contracts for Ukraine, our high-quality Eco Steel Asphalt can be used in Ukraine’s national reconstruction, and we can also promote the excellence of our products in the global market. We will strive to quickly complete the infrastructure for business expansion within Ukraine and actively develop our operations.”
