According to the telecommunications industry, KT appointed Executive Director Yoon Kyung-ah as head of the AI Tech Lab in the Technology Innovation Division on the 3rd. Executive Director Yoon is an expert in AI, big data, and cloud technologies, having worked at rival companies SK Telecom and Hyundai Card.

The AI Tech Lab was newly established in the organizational restructuring following CEO Kim Young-seop's inauguration at the end of November last year. Unlike the existing AI2XLab, which is responsible for establishing AI and big data governance and developing future core technologies, the AI Tech Lab develops customer-centric AI application technologies, services, and platforms based on the super-large AI 'Mideum'.

As a result, both of KT's AI research institutes are now led by female executives. The existing AI2XLab continues to be led by Director Bae Soon-min (Executive Director).

Additionally, KT has recruited former prosecutor and legal expert Executive Director Choo Ui-jung as head of the Audit Office, and Executive Director Heo Tae-won as head of the Compliance Promotion Office. Executive Director Choo, who served as head of the Criminal Division 1 at the Gimcheon Branch of Daegu District Prosecutors' Office, previously worked as a prosecutor seconded to the Korea Communications Commission, making her familiar with telecommunications operations. After retiring last year, she worked as a lawyer at the law firm Kwangjang.

Also a former prosecutor, Executive Director Heo worked at Kim & Chang before serving as lead attorney at the law firms Yuljeong and Ain, and was an outside director and audit committee member at Netmarble.

Earlier, during the November personnel appointments, KT appointed Vice President Lee Yong-bok, who served as head of the Criminal Division 1 at Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office, as the new head of the Legal Office.
