Blocking Public Parking Lot Exit and Ignoring Calls
"Consider It Bad Luck for the New Year," Netizens Advise
On New Year's Day, while many people went to watch the sunrise, a story about a nuisance vehicle blocking the entrance of a public parking lot and obstructing other cars' access has sparked outrage among netizens. On the 1st, an online community, BobaeDream, posted an article titled "New Year's First Troublemaker, Woman Blocking the Road with Her Car." The author, A, said, "There were many people who came to see the sunrise. However, since the sun was hidden behind the clouds and not clearly visible, I was about to move to eat when I found a car blocking the only entrance to the public parking lot."
In the photo A shared, a car is seen blocking the parking lot entrance. Although the entrance of the parking lot is unclear, the curb on the road is missing only at the entrance, indicating that the blocked area is indeed the entrance. A contacted the vehicle using the phone number displayed on it, and a woman answered. He said, "When I called, a young woman answered. I told her, 'You are blocking the parking lot exit, so I can't get out. You need to move your car,' and I expected her to apologize."
However, contrary to A's expectations, the response was cold. A said, "'So what? Other cars were parked there, so I parked too,' she said," and "When I tried to explain the situation again, the call was disconnected." Later, another car owner, not A, also called to ask the vehicle to move but received no answer. Eventually, the police were called. However, the police said that since the exit was not completely blocked, punishment was ambiguous, and they did not have the authority to tow the car, so they only called the woman. It is reported that the car owner did not answer the police call either.
A said, "After waiting for a long time, fortunately, another car moved, and just as I was about to get out, a woman appeared with a poodle," expressing disbelief, "She hadn't moved her car because she had finished watching the sunrise." He added, "Still, I thought she would at least say 'sorry,' but she never apologized." A was especially angry because the woman remained shameless despite the police's explanation of the situation and criticism from people around her.
Netizens who read this story responded with comments such as, "Think of it as a bad luck cleansing for the New Year. Only good things will happen this year," "Since she blocked the cars, they should have refused to move as well," "It's really frustrating when the police say they can't do anything," and "The law needs to be more deeply integrated into everyday life."
