Samsung Electronics Unveils Three 'Odyssey OLED' Gaming Monitors at CES

Application of Technology Minimizing Light Reflection
Supports Consistent Brightness and Color Levels

Samsung Electronics will unveil new OLED gaming monitors at CES 2024, the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition, held in Las Vegas, USA, from the 9th (local time) to the 12th. The new products to be introduced include three models: the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD), Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD), and Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SD).

The G80SD features a 32-inch UHD resolution display with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It supports a maximum refresh rate of 240Hz and has a GTG (Grey to Grey) response time of 0.03ms. The 27-inch G60SD offers QHD resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio, a maximum refresh rate of 360Hz, and a response time of 0.03ms. The G95SD is a 2024 model equipped with new features based on the existing model.

The three new models (G95SD, G80SD, G60SD) apply OLED Glare Free technology to minimize light reflection, providing a consistent level of brightness and color for gaming without the need for a separate shading hood. They have received certification from the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA), enabling accurate color and contrast representation.

They also support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, which delivers tear-free visuals in HDR gaming environments. Additionally, the monitors come with stands featuring Height Adjustable Stand (HAS), Tilt, Pivot, and Swivel functions, VESA wall mounts, two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, and a USB hub to enhance user convenience.

The G95SD and G80SD models introduce a new 'Multi Control' feature to improve user experience through seamless device connectivity. Multi Control allows users to control Samsung monitors, Galaxy Books, tablets, or smartphones with a single mouse and keyboard, and easily move images and text between devices.

Both models also include a built-in SmartThings Hub, enabling connection and control of various Internet of Things (IoT) devices without a separate hub. Equipped with Samsung’s Tizen operating system (OS), they support a variety of OTT services. Through the built-in streaming game platform service, 'Samsung Gaming Hub,' users can enjoy cloud gaming without connecting a console device.

For the first time this year, Samsung introduces two Odyssey OLED models with a 16:9 aspect ratio (G80SD, G60SD), continuing the signature ultra-slim metal design of the Odyssey OLED series while applying the new 2024 'Core Lighting Plus' on the rear.

Core Lighting Plus slims down the rear lighting structure to more than four times thinner than before, harmonizing with the ultra-slim 3.9mm metal bezel. The vibrant circular lighting at the center of the rear creates a gaming atmosphere in the surrounding space, enhancing game immersion.

The newly applied slim metal stand features a tool-less assembly structure that allows installation and disassembly of the stand and base without tools. The 3mm-thick base, which complements the ultra-slim bezel, provides space to place various gaming peripherals, improving space utilization.

Jung Hoon, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Business, said, "Not only are game genres diversifying, but the platforms on which games can be enjoyed are also evolving. Samsung Odyssey gaming monitors will provide personalized gaming experiences based on technological innovations for the best gaming environment."
