Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) held the 2024 Seongbuk-gu Staff Opening Ceremony on the 2nd at the Seongbuk-gu Office Multipurpose Hall. About 500 Seongbuk-gu public officials attended the ceremony.
In his opening remarks, Mayor Lee Seung-ro said, "This year marks the second year of the 8th elected term of Seongbuk-gu administration, centered on 'field-oriented, livelihood-centered, happy Seongbuk.' It is a turning point and an important time to prepare for the next 100 years, so let us take the lead and work even harder."
In particular, Mayor Lee emphasized, "To create a city that grows evenly without regional disparities and a city of dignity by accelerating the long-cherished redevelopment and reconstruction of Seongbuk residents, all Seongbuk-gu public officials should not be complacent with the present but pour out their passion."
He continued, "The ultimate goal of administration is to improve the actual lives of residents, so to implement administration for residents and policies that residents want, we should prioritize cooperation and communication within the organization and always maintain an open attitude to talk, think, and gather wisdom together."
Mayor Lee also did not forget to remind about blind spots. "To ensure that all members are safe and happy, we must have a belief that the answer to all problems lies in the field and listen to the voices of residents for meticulous care without blind spots in childcare, care, and education, becoming true public guardians who protect the lives of residents."
Mayor Lee and over 500 Seongbuk-gu public officials pledged "unceasing efforts for a Seongbuk that is happy today and more anticipated tomorrow," concluding the ceremony with greetings embodying the energy of the Blue Dragon of the Gapjin year.
