On the 2nd, Chairperson Ryu delivered a New Year's address at the Korea Broadcasting Center located in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. She stated, "We will launch a task force (TF) team overseeing regulation revisions early this year," adding, "The ongoing revision work on broadcasting and telecommunications review regulations by each department will be coordinated and overseen by this TF, accelerating progress and strengthening efforts."

She also promised personnel reforms focused on improving work efficiency and capabilities. Chairperson Ryu said, "We will re-examine all talents from a zero base and implement a completely new style of personnel reform where department heads and talents mutually match to work together."

Furthermore, she emphasized the need to strengthen promotional capabilities for tangible public service communication channels to better serve the public. Chairperson Ryu remarked, "The 24-hour reporting and relief system for digital sex crimes is just one example," adding, "In the face of attacks targeting public livelihood, citizens should be able to actively submit review requests through our commission." She continued, "We must make every necessary effort, including campaigns, website renovations, and video material development."

She also mentioned last year's achievements that enabled 'constant rapid review.' Chairperson Ryu said, "Although it has been a short period since my inauguration on September 8 last year, rapid reviews of false and manipulated content have been procedurally established, and 'constant rapid review' has been fully implemented from the new year." She added, "Even urgent and highly public-interest matters in broadcasting, which previously required waiting for 10 months or more, can now be shortened to about a month and a half or less." Securing a budget increased by approximately 2 billion KRW compared to the government proposal, normalizing the commission's budget, was also presented as an achievement.

Finally, Chairperson Ryu concluded her New Year's address with an apology to the public. She said, "We deeply apologize once again for causing great concern due to the unprecedented personal information leakage crime in the history of the commission," adding, "In particular, some journalists from media outlets who received severe disciplinary actions from the commission or caused the incident related to NewsTapa's false and manipulated transcript citation report used illegally leaked personal information." She continued, "We offer our deepest apologies to the victims," and stated, "Filing complaints about fake news and illegal or harmful content is a public interest right that any citizen can exercise."
