On the 2nd, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups held the inauguration ceremony of the 5th Minister Oh Young-joo at the Eoullim Hall on the 4th floor of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups building in Sejong, with about 200 attendees including Vice Minister Oh Ki-woong, senior officials at the department head level or higher, and employees of affiliated and subordinate organizations.
The inauguration ceremony lasted about 30 minutes, starting with the national anthem, followed by the inaugural speech of the new Minister Oh Young-joo, and concluded with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups staff exchanging New Year's greetings, serving also as the 2024 opening ceremony.
In her inaugural speech, Minister Oh Young-joo said, “I feel a heavy sense of mission and responsibility as the Minister of SMEs and Startups representing 7.7 million small and medium-sized enterprises, venture companies, and small business owners.” She then expressed her convictions regarding ▲ key criteria for work ▲ future policy directions ▲ and organizational management as the second Minister of SMEs and Startups under the Yoon Suk-yeol administration.
She also emphasized to the heads of subordinate organizations that “the role of subordinate organizations, which are at the closest point of contact with customers in each policy area of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, is important,” and urged them to “convey the vivid voices from the field without distortion.”
After the inauguration event, Minister Oh visited the offices where the Ministry of SMEs and Startups employees work one by one, checked the working environment of the staff, and took time to communicate with employees who could not attend the inauguration ceremony.
