On the morning of the 2nd, Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, who was attacked by an assailant in Busan, received emergency treatment at the Trauma Center of Busan National University Hospital and was reportedly being transferred to Seoul National University Hospital.
At around 10:30 a.m. that day, Lee was attacked by an assailant wielding a weapon while traveling by vehicle after inspecting the planned site for Gadeok New Airport at Daehang Observatory in Gangseo-gu.
Lee, who sustained an injury to his neck, was immediately airlifted to the hospital and arrived at the Regional Trauma Center of Busan National University Hospital, which specializes in treating severe trauma patients, shortly after 11:15 a.m.
Although there was significant bleeding from Lee’s injury, it was confirmed that his life was not in danger. He remained conscious until arriving at the hospital and received emergency treatment on the wound at around 11:50 a.m.
