Yoon "Doing Our Best for the Public to Feel Economic Vitality"... Emphasizing Public-Private One Team

Accelerating Focused Support for Service Industry and Advancement of High-Tech Industries This Year

President Yoon Suk-yeol stated on the 2nd that "we will put all our efforts into ensuring that the dynamism and vitality of our economy can be felt."


According to the presidential office, President Yoon made these remarks while attending the '2024 Economic Community New Year Meeting' held at the Korea Federation of SMEs in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the same day.


The Economic Community New Year Meeting is an annual economic event that has been held since 1962. Since last year, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Korea Federation of SMEs have jointly hosted the event to promote coexistence and solidarity. President Yoon attended for the second consecutive year, following last year.

In his encouragement speech, President Yoon expressed gratitude to business leaders, saying, "Thanks to the government and companies working as one team to explore markets worldwide and overcome the economic crisis through exports, exports have clearly revived, and we have achieved price stability and a high employment rate."


President Yoon explained that to realize economic vitality this year, he plans to promote ▲ focused support for the service industry ▲ fostering future advanced industries and encouraging corporate investment through bold and swift support ▲ supporting the global expansion of young startups ▲ and alleviating financial burdens on small business owners and self-employed individuals.


Furthermore, President Yoon urged, "In the new year as well, let the government and the economic community run even more vigorously as 'One Team Korea.'"


The event was attended by Kim Ki-moon, chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs, Choi Tae-won, chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and heads of six major economic organizations, along with 100 young entrepreneurs and over 400 economic figures.


From the government and the presidential office, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sang-mok, Minister of SMEs and Startups Oh Young-joo, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Bang Moon-kyu, Minister of Employment and Labor Lee Jeong-sik, Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin, Financial Services Commission Chairman Kim Joo-hyun, Presidential Chief of Staff Lee Gwan-seop, Policy Chief Seong Tae-yoon, Senior Secretary for Economic Affairs Park Chun-seop, and Senior Secretary for Public Relations Lee Do-woon were present.
