KAIST (President Kwang Hyung Lee) announced on the 2nd that it will participate in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2024) held in Las Vegas, USA, for four days from the 9th to the 12th.
Under the two themes of ‘Expanding the Scope of Human Intelligence, Mobility, and Reality’ and ‘Pursuit of Human Security and Sustainable Development,’ KAIST has selected exhibited technologies and will showcase the technologies of 24 startups and prospective startup teams excelling in various fields such as artificial intelligence, mobility, virtual reality, healthcare and human security, and sustainable development through a solo booth.
In the first field dealing with technologies related to ‘Expanding the Scope of Human Intelligence, Mobility, and Reality,’ 12 companies including Micropix, Panesia, DeepAuto, MGL, Reports, Nania Labs, El Factory, Korea Positioning Technology, Odd Eye, Planby Technologies, Moovin, and Studio Lab will participate.
In the field of ‘Pursuit of Human Security and Sustainable Development,’ technologies from 12 companies including Aldeba, ADNC, Solve, Iris, Blue Device, Barrel Eye, TR, A2Us, Greenerz, Iron Boys, Shard Partners, and Kingbot will be introduced.
Among the participating companies, Aldeba received the 2023 Korea Company Award and the Presidential Award at Challenge K-Startup for its biomimetic materials and printing technology, and attracted investments worth 4.5 billion KRW.
Nania Labs, leading with AI design solution technology for manufacturing, received the 2022 K-Tech Startup Award and has attracted investments totaling 3.5 billion KRW to date.
Panesia received the Innovation Award at CES 2024 and was recognized for its fabless AI semiconductor technology, attracting 16 billion KRW in seed round (early-stage) investments.
Student startup teams will also be active at this exhibition. Studio Lab developed ‘Seller Canvas,’ software that automatically generates detailed pages when product images are uploaded, and received the highest innovation award in the AI category at CES 2024.
At the central stage of the KAIST exhibition hall, interviews with participating companies will be conducted from the 9th to the 11th, and the KAIST NIGHT event, where invited investors and participating companies network, will be held on the 10th from 5 PM to 7 PM.
Choi Sung-yul, Director of the KAIST Technology Value Creation Center, stated, "KAIST plans to demonstrate achievements that realize the vision of a global value-creation leading university that overcomes the limits of human intelligence, mobility, and space through deep science and deep tech-based startups at CES 2024, and solves issues of human security and sustainable development."
