Guro-gu Provides 1 Million Won 'Longevity Celebration Fund' to 100-Year-Old Seniors

Guro-gu provides longevity celebration funds to seniors aged 100 and over.

The district announced on the 2nd, "To promote elderly welfare and wish for the longevity of seniors, we plan to provide longevity celebration funds to seniors aged 100 starting this month."

As a commemoration of turning 100 years old, a one-time longevity celebration fund of 1 million KRW will be provided, with the implementation reference date set as January 1 of this year.

Seniors aged 100 or older who have continuously registered their residence in Guro-gu for more than one year are eligible to receive the longevity celebration funds.

The total number of eligible recipients is expected to be 76 (28 turning 100, 48 aged 100 or older), and considering the advanced age of the seniors, the district plans to send application guidance letters by mail.

Applications can be made at the local community service center of the resident's jurisdiction up to 30 days before the 100th birthday, and applicants must bring their ID card and a copy of their bankbook. Seniors born before 1924 who are 100 years or older can apply at any time.

If the applicant has difficulty applying personally, a family member or other representative may apply on their behalf by delegation.

A Guro-gu official said, "We wish for the happy and healthy later years of our longevity seniors," and added, "We will continue to do our best to ensure the welfare of our seniors."
