Seongbuk-gu to Hold 2024 Sunrise Event at Gaeunsan

Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) held the 2024 New Year's Sunrise event at Gaeunsan, a representative sunrise spot in Seoul, to welcome the Year of the Blue Dragon, Gapjin Year 2024.


The event, held from 7 a.m. on January 1, 2024, attracted about 3,000 visitors, including Mayor Lee Seung-ro of Seongbuk-gu and local residents, who gathered at Gaeunsan to watch the first sunrise of the new year and make their wishes and resolutions.


Before the sunrise, the traditional Pungmul performance troupe's street parade and the lively popera performance by the Dream Musical team excited the hearts of tourists and Seongbuk residents waiting for the sunrise.


Mayor Lee Seung-ro of Seongbuk-gu said, “I thank all the residents who joined us for the early morning New Year's sunrise. In 2024, I hope all Seongbuk residents achieve greater and broader aspirations like the Blue Dragon soaring powerfully.” He added, “In 2024, Seongbuk will strive to realize a sustainable future and achieve administrative results that residents can truly feel.”
