He also announced that with a budget of 1 trillion won, he will further solidify the achievements and substance of the 5 years and 6 months of the 7th and 8th elected terms, and accelerate efforts to improve education, culture, economy, welfare, and residential environment.

Dear residents of Jungnang-gu and readers of Asia Economy!

Hello! This is Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu. The hopeful year of Gapjin (甲辰年) has dawned. In the year of the Blue Dragon guarding the East, many good things will happen in Jungnang-gu, located in the eastern part of Seoul. I thank each and every resident of Jungnang-gu and wish that all your New Year's wishes come true.

In the new year, we will continue the high status of Jungnang-gu, which ranked 7th in happiness index and entered the era of 1 trillion won, and we aim to further strengthen the achievements and substance of the 5 years and 6 months of the 7th and 8th elected terms. Like the Blue Dragon soaring in the sky, Jungnang-gu will rise powerfully as a city excelling in education, culture, and economy, where children are happy and elders are respected with warmth.

Jungnang, a city excelling in education, culture, and economy!... A warm welfare and pleasant Jungnang, running again in 2024!

First, we will brighten hope through education and blossom happiness through culture and economy.

We will expand the school education support budget from 3.8 billion won in 2018 to 12 billion won this year, more than tripling it, and open the Youth Culture and Arts Creation Center and the 2nd Jungnang Media Center. We will greatly nurture children's dreams through the 2nd Bang Jeong-hwan Education Support Center, the establishment of an astronomy science center, and the "Reading a Thousand Books" program. We will plant trees and improve walkways in Mangwoo History and Culture Park, and raise the pride of Jungnang residents with the Seoul Rose Festival, the most beautiful festival in Seoul. We will invigorate the economy through the Fashion Sewing Smart Anchor, the construction of the Jungnang Startup Support Center, and job creation, supporting local small businesses.

We will continue customized welfare for each life cycle in Jungnang.

From postpartum care support to communal childcare rooms, neighborhood care centers, youth community spaces, and expanded job opportunities for seniors, we will provide comprehensive support.

We will further enhance the value of Jungnang.

With the prompt advancement of the SH headquarters relocation, the construction of the Myeonmok Complex Administrative Town, and the GTX Sangbong Station Complex Transfer Center, as well as the improvement of residential environments in the most designated housing development areas in Seoul, we will make Jungnang a better place to live and further increase its value.

In 2024, we will take off and soar together with the residents of Jungnang-gu.
