Naju City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 1st that it was selected as an excellent institution in the nationwide local government evaluation of the '2023 Disaster Response Safe Korea Training' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
On November 3rd last year, Naju conducted a successful on-site drill assuming a large-scale fire at the Paldo Naju factory, with the participation of 10 organizations and groups including the fire station, police station, military units, and about 250 citizens, receiving high praise.
In particular, this year, the Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters and the training site were linked, and using the disaster safety communication network (PS-LTE), the transmission of situations, reporting, response, recovery, and restoration training between the site and related organizations were organically carried out, demonstrating excellent training capabilities.
Yoon Byung-tae, mayor of Naju, said, "Being selected as an excellent institution in this year's Safe Korea Training is an achievement made together by the employees of related departments, related organizations, and citizens to create a safe Naju City." He added, "We will protect citizens' lives and property from various types of disasters, strengthen prevention and initial response capabilities, and build a more solid safety net for the local community."
