Suwon City to Hold Year-End and New Year Events at Hwaseong Haenggung Square Area

On the evening of the 31st until the morning of January 1st next year, Suwon City in Gyeonggi will hold year-end and New Year events around Hwaseong Haenggung Square.

On the 31st, from 10:30 PM to 1:00 AM the next day, Suwon City will host the "New Year's Eve Concert" on a special stage at Haenggung Square. Attendees can enjoy fusion gugak, traditional gugak, and samulnori performances. After the opening performance, Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun will greet citizens to welcome the New Year.

At 11:45 PM, a bell-ringing ceremony will be held at Yeomingeok. Following a celebratory performance by a military band, Mayor Lee Jae-jun, Suwon City Council Chairman Kim Ki-jung, and citizens will ring the bell at midnight to celebrate. After the bell-ringing event, a rice cake soup sharing event will take place at the event booths in Haenggung Square.

On January 1st at 7:00 AM, Suwon City will hold a New Year's sunrise event at Seojangdae. After a traditional parade and Binari ritual, Mayor Lee Jae-jun will watch the sunrise with citizens. Later that morning at 9:00 AM, Mayor Lee will pay respects at the Hyeonchungtap Memorial Tower.
