Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko announced on the 28th that she will visit seven countries, including the United States, Canada, and Germany, starting from the 5th of next month.
Foreign Minister Kamikawa is scheduled to hold talks with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, likely coordinating schedules ahead of Prime Minister Kishida Fumio's visit to the United States. Kyodo News and NHK recently reported that Prime Minister Kishida will make a state visit to the United States in early March next year.
Last month, Prime Minister Kishida received an invitation for a state visit from U.S. President Joe Biden during his visit to the United States. Foreign Minister Kamikawa is also expected to visit Canada, Germany, Poland, Finland, Sweden, and the Netherlands.
