Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education Achieves Comprehensive Integrity Rating of 'Grade 2'

Announcement by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, Rising Two Levels Compared to Last Year

The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education achieved a grade 2 rating in the 2023 public institution integrity assessment conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.

According to the 2023 public institution integrity survey results announced by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission on the 28th, the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education received an overall integrity grade of 2. This marks a two-level improvement from last year’s grade 4.

In the category-specific results, the Office of Education received a grade 3 in integrity perception, which measures corruption awareness and experience through surveys of civil petitioners who have experienced the institution’s services and internal employees. Additionally, it earned a grade 2 in integrity efforts, which evaluates anti-corruption initiatives and policy effectiveness.

The overall integrity grade is a composite of these category grades, and the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education self-assessed this as a significant advancement compared to its consistent grade 3 to 4 ratings over the past five years.

Park Gyu-baek, Chief Auditor, stated, “The improvement in the integrity of the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education is the result of all public officials empathizing with integrity policies and actively participating in spreading an integrity culture. Moving forward, we will strengthen internal and external communication and continue to develop and disseminate various integrity policies to realize a transparent Jeonnam education.”

This overall integrity assessment was conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission through professional research firms Korea Research and Global Research, using online surveys via email and smartphones from August to November.
