Boseong County Secures 394.8 Billion Won in National Funding for Next Year

Priority Sewerage Flood Prevention 40.1 Billion KRW

Beolgyo Bongnim Flood Damage Living Area Maintenance 35.8 Billion KRW, etc.

Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 28th that despite the challenging conditions of securing national funds due to the government's sound fiscal policy, it has secured a total of 394.8 billion KRW in national funds for 2024, which is 141.1 billion KRW more than the previous year's 253.7 billion KRW.


The county devoted great effort to developing the rationale for the feasibility of projects by identifying government policy projects for 2024 in advance and prioritizing projects linked with the central government to accelerate the development of "Hopeful Boseong full of dreams and hope."

Major projects include the revitalization of agricultural and fishing villages sector with ▲Yulpo Port Fishing Village New Vitalization Promotion 30 billion KRW ▲Beolgyo Mudflat Restoration Project 7 billion KRW ▲Rural Hub Revitalization 19 billion KRW ▲High-Quality Rice Distribution Activation 14.9 billion KRW ▲Vulnerable Area Living Conditions Improvement Project 6.1 billion KRW.


In the disaster safety prevention sector, ▲Beolgyo Bongnim Comprehensive Maintenance for Flood Damage Living Area 35.8 billion KRW ▲Boseong Sewerage Priority Management Flood Prevention 40.1 billion KRW were secured.


In the water and sewage sector, ▲Beolgyo Sewer Pipeline Maintenance 15 billion KRW ▲Boseong Sewer Pipeline Phase 2 9.8 billion KRW ▲Boseong Public Sewage Treatment Facility 12.8 billion KRW ▲Village Sewage Maintenance including Yongchu District 26.3 billion KRW ▲Old Water Pipe Replacement 40.7 billion KRW ▲Hoecheon Public Sewage Treatment Facility Expansion 9 billion KRW were secured.


In the living environment maintenance sector, ▲Installation of Municipal Waste Incineration Facility 10.3 billion KRW ▲Renewable Energy Supply 4 billion KRW ▲Public Building Green Remodeling 1.1 billion KRW ▲Local Extinction Response Fund Project 8 billion KRW are expected to greatly contribute to the residential stability of local residents.


For SOC projects, ▲National Road No. 27 Expansion between Beolgyo and Juam 37.8 billion KRW ▲Gyeongjeon Line Electrification 38.2 billion KRW ▲Boseong-Imseong-ri Railway Construction 28.9 billion KRW were secured, expected to promote local job creation and improve residents' income levels.


Kim Cheol-woo, the governor of Boseong-gun, said, "The result of securing national funds for 2024 seems to have awakened the awareness among about 800 employees that working together is important even under the government's sound fiscal policy," adding, "I hope that for the 2025 national fund projects, we discover projects that can be recognized as 'projects that the government should undertake' and have prior consultations with each central government department."


Meanwhile, Boseong-gun operated a budget securing situation task force involving the governor in February 2023, and from March to August, visited central government departments frequently, and after September, visited the offices of the chairpersons of each standing committee and the Budget and Accounts Committee in the National Assembly to explain and persuade the logic and feasibility of projects.
