City of Busan and Busan Urban Corporation Sign First Delegated Development Consignment Contract for Public Property

Facility for Local Content Companies... Strengthening Competitiveness of Game Content Industry

Busan City signed a consignment development contract for the 'Game Convergence Space Creation' project with Busan Urban Corporation on the 27th.

The Game Convergence Space is a game content-related corporate support platform to be built in Centum City General Industrial Complex (U-dong, Haeundae-gu) with three basement floors and 18 above-ground floors. It is the first consignment development project using public property in Busan City.

As a knowledge industry center under the 'Act on the Promotion of Industrial Clusters and Factory Establishment,' it will house manufacturing, knowledge industry, and information and communication businesses, along with support facilities in a mixed-use manner.

The site is a long-term undeveloped city-owned land since the completion of the industrial complex. Busan City has carried out administrative procedures such as feasibility study services, local finance central investment review, incorporation into the public property management plan, and review of the development project plan to develop this area as a game content-related infrastructure.

This consignment development contract signing follows the approval of the 'Busan Urban Corporation Game Convergence Space Creation Project Participation Agreement' by the Busan City Council on the 14th, completing the decision-making process for Busan Urban Corporation's participation in the new investment project.

With this contract, Busan Urban Corporation plans to officially start the project next year, including holding an architectural design competition.

Kim Yong-hak, President of Busan Urban Corporation, stated, "We hope to strengthen the competitiveness of the game culture content industry in the Busan area through the Game Convergence Space," adding, "We will establish a cooperative system not only with the consigning agency, Busan City, but also with game content-related organizations to ensure smooth project progress."

Mayor Park Hyung-jun said, "With the creation of the Game Convergence Space, we plan to actively support the startup and growth of game content companies in the region and attract companies from outside the area," and added, "We will closely communicate with related organizations such as Busan Urban Corporation to actively support the swift promotion of the project."
