Various Facilities Along the Harbor and Port Coast
Marine Pensions, Offshore Fishing Spots, etc.
Sacheon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 28th that it has assigned road name addresses to various facilities along the harbor and port coastline, such as marine pensions and marine fishing sites, to promote convenience and safety in citizens' daily lives.
Various water facilities within the harbor and port, including marine pensions, marine fishing sites, and fish farms, have not only been difficult to locate accurately but also posed challenges for prompt response in case of safety accidents and disasters.
Additionally, there was a lack of usable address information for visitors at coastal oyster racks and other locations, causing inconveniences in daily life such as parcel delivery.

Accordingly, the city assigned road names and building numbers to water facilities (marine pensions, marine fishing sites, fish farms, jukbangnyeom, etc.) through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s contest project for ‘Address System Advancement and Development of Address-Based New Industry Models.’
In fact, through consultations with the Coast Guard, fire stations, fishing communities, and exchanges and discussions with Gyeongnam Province and neighboring cities and counties, 85 road name addresses were assigned, and 212 road name plates, basic number plates, and building number plates were installed.
The city expects that by assigning addresses during the permitting process for various water facilities, it will become easier for users to find locations and enable prompt response to safety accidents and disaster situations.
Mayor Park Dongsik stated, “We plan to continuously maintain detailed addresses closely related to citizens’ lives and safety, such as detailed addresses, object addresses, farm roads, trails, and hiking paths, to ensure no inconvenience in using road name addresses, and to promote various projects for the popularization of road name addresses.”
