National Pukyong University Digital Smart Busan Academy Project Group, Ranked '1st' in Evaluation

Phase 1 Achievements and Business Plan of the SW Talent Development Project

The Digital Smart Busan Academy Project Group at the National Pukyong National University recently ranked first in the evaluation of the first phase performance and the next phase business plan of the SW Talent Development Project conducted by the Institute of Information and Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation under the Ministry of Science and ICT.

In this evaluation, which decided whether to continue support and adjust the budget for a total of eight consortia selected in 2022, the project group took first place in the network-type campus SW academy division. As a result of this evaluation, the project group received a 5% increase in the next phase business budget and will continue the project until the end of 2025.


This evaluation was conducted by verifying and checking the performance of the consortia’s business plans, followed by a presentation evaluation, based on criteria such as curriculum design and operation, trainee selection and management, and employment outcomes.


The Digital Smart Busan Academy is organized as a consortium consisting of 12 institutions including Pukyong National University as the lead, Dong-A University, Dong-Eui University, Shinsegae I&C, and others, nurturing ICT professionals suitable for the demands of major local industries since 2022.


Over two years of project implementation, the project group has produced over 180 graduates, and was highly evaluated for its high employment rate centered on excellent local companies and public institutions by expanding cooperation with related local organizations such as Busan City, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Korea Technology Finance Corporation, and the Southeast Regional Statistics Office.


Project Group Leader No Maeng-seok said, “The first place achievement in the phase evaluation is the result of joint efforts by the consortium’s participating universities and companies. We will faithfully carry out next year’s business plan to nurture outstanding SW talents who will play active roles in advanced fields.”
