Installation of Advanced Filtration Device for Leakage of Jeong Suji
Complete Blockage of Larvae Leakage Including Chironomids
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is accelerating efforts to supply safe tap water by installing precision filtration devices at the outlets of water purification reservoirs, a first nationwide.
On the 27th, Sancheong-gun announced that it has installed precision filtration devices with automatic backwash functions at the outlets of all water purification plants (water purification reservoirs) in the region.
The newly installed precision filtration devices feature 200-mesh microfiltration screens that can completely block the outflow of small organisms such as chironomids.

Additionally, during the installation process, continuous consultations with the filtration device manufacturer, World Innotec, led to an improvement in the backwash method from air to water, resulting in the installation of filtration devices under optimal conditions.
In particular, by installing precision filtration devices at the outlets of water purification reservoirs for the first time nationwide, the safety of tap water has been secured.
Along with this installation, Sancheong-gun is investing 700 million KRW by next year to improve aging water purification plants, including attaching sanitary tiles to the concrete structures of the plants, making every effort to supply safe and clean tap water.
A county official stated, “Through continuous monitoring, automatic backwashing will be performed when there is a decrease in the outflow volume of the water purification reservoir or when a water level difference occurs by zone,” adding, “We will strive even harder to supply clean and stable tap water so that residents can drink with confidence.”
