Jinju City to Pilot New City Bus Design Starting January Next Year

Two Designs Featured on 11th Generation Vehicles
Gathering 'Citizen Feedback'

Jinju City in Gyeongnam Province will conduct a pilot operation of 11 newly designed city buses for one month starting January 1, 2024, while collecting citizens' feedback.

The pilot operation designs were selected based on a citizen preference survey conducted last September, applying the two most preferred designs out of four. The most preferred design (Hamo character on a blue background) will be used on 9 buses operating on routes 270, 380, and 381, while the second most preferred design (Hamo character on a red background) will be applied to 2 buses on route 142.

Citizens can conveniently submit their opinions online by scanning the QR code attached to the Jinju City website and the city bus vehicles.

The buses with the new design for the pilot operation are electric low-floor buses delivered by transportation companies, so no additional costs will be incurred. Nearby cities Busan and Changwon are also applying new designs when delivering new buses and gradually improving the designs.

An official from the city stated, “Starting with this design improvement, we will do our best from next year to establish Jinju’s public transportation as a friendly, convenient, and safe means of daily life for citizens,” and added, “We hope for continued interest from all citizens.”
