Gangbuk-gu Mayor Lee Soon-hee 'Into the Education Field'... School Visit Meeting Held

Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) announced on the 26th that it held a 'School Visit Meeting' targeting elementary, middle, and high schools to effectively promote the 2024 Education Expense Support Project.

Mayor Lee Soon-hee plans to personally visit 20 schools from January 1st to January 10th, 2024, starting with Yeonghun Elementary School and Gukje Middle School, along with related officials. The meeting was organized as a time to communicate with principals, vice principals, school operation committees, and parent associations to gather opinions from the education field.

In December last year, Mayor Lee also personally visited 20 schools to listen to school-specific issues and parents' opinions. Among the 113 suggestions and proposals raised at the meetings, 90% have been completed through cooperation with related organizations such as the Gangbuk Police Station.

The district promoted the 'Education Space Innovation Project' this year, restructuring idle school spaces into flexible spaces that respond to future education. Unique spaces such as student lounges, multipurpose audiovisual rooms, barrier-free playgrounds, outdoor learning areas, and walking trails were created in six schools, receiving positive responses.

Going forward, the district plans to continuously operate school visit meetings and parent feedback groups to provide excellent educational environments and quality programs for students.

Mayor Lee Soon-hee said, "Next year, we will effectively execute education expenses by reflecting the requests and needs of the school field," adding, "We will spare no interest and support so that children and youth in Gangbuk-gu can receive high-quality education."
