On the 25th, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that the new Jungheung-dong office building has opened and will begin operations starting next year.
Jungheung-dong is an administrative district formed by merging Jungheung 2-dong and 3-dong. As a large-scale apartment redevelopment project progressed along the boundary of the two areas, there was a proposal to unify them into one.
Subsequently, the name of the merged district, adjustments to the neighborhood units, and the formation of autonomous organizations were carried out based on residents' opinions.
The new office building was constructed as a multi-purpose facility for residents, replacing the aging Jungheung 2 and 3-dong offices that were over 30 years old. It has a total floor area of 3,274㎡, with 1 to 3 floors above ground, and includes 78 parking spaces.
Considering residents' accessibility, it was established at the central point of the jurisdiction of the merged district. Nearby, there are large-scale living SOC facilities such as the Jungheung Library and the Dahamkke Care Center, which are expected to greatly contribute to improving residents' welfare.
Moon In, the mayor of Buk-gu, stated, "We will continue to actively support minimizing residents' inconveniences and ensuring that Jungheung-dong becomes a warm and beautiful neighborhood."
