Regarding Han Dong-hoon, Minister of Justice, resigning from his ministerial position and accepting the role of Emergency Response Committee Chairperson of the People Power Party, Kim Young-jin, Chief Political Coordination Officer of the Democratic Party of Korea and a pro-Myeong (親明) figure, criticized the move, saying it "does not align with the people's thoughts and common sense."

On the 22nd, Kim stated on YTN's 'News King Park Ji-hoon' program, "He just treated politics as a side job or part-time work and then became the CEO of politics," expressing his criticism.

Han, who accepted the position of Emergency Response Committee Chairperson of the People Power Party, submitted his resignation the day before and held a farewell ceremony at the Government Complex Gwacheon. He told reporters, "I intend to lead with the compass of the people's common sense and thoughts." However, Kim pointed out that the 'Han Dong-hoon Emergency Committee' actually does not align with the people's thoughts and common sense.

He said, "It is a decision completely inconsistent with the people's thoughts and common sense that a president who was a former Prosecutor General, the Minister of Justice, and Han, who is also from the prosecution, become the Emergency Response Committee Chairperson," adding, "Therefore, the words and actions themselves were inconsistent."

Kim also said, "I believe President Yoon Seok-yeol does not even trust Kim Ki-hyun, the pro-Yoon representative he appointed," and added, "Is he perhaps wanting Jang Se-dong, a former member of the Agency for National Security Planning under Chun Doo-hwan? Is he seeking a more vertical and direct party leader who can move strictly according to his instructions? So, in fact, this is a kind of loyalist coup-like appointment of the party leader and emergency committee chairperson, which is not a very good method."

Regarding the congratulatory message sent by Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, Kim said, "Although Leader Lee is under investigation, he is still the leader of the opposition party. President Yoon appointed Minister Han as the ruling party's Emergency Response Committee Chairperson in a loyalist coup-like manner, but the ruling and opposition parties should operate in a normal and reasonable way to benefit the people and the country's future. Therefore, I hope Chairperson Han does well."

There are concerns from some quarters that if the 'Han Dong-hoon Emergency Committee' is formed, the relationship between Leader Lee and Han might become that of prosecutor and suspect. In response, Kim dismissed this, saying, "This is a typical thought of the prosecution kingdom and prosecution advocates."
