Geumcheon-gu Supports Environmental Improvement Costs for Aging Local Children's Centers

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) announced that it is promoting the 'Local Children's Center Environment Improvement Fund Support Project' to provide high-quality care services.

Since last year, the 'Local Children's Center Environment Improvement Fund Support Project,' funded by Geumcheon-gu's own resources, has been supporting remodeling costs mainly for local children's centers used by children from vulnerable groups.

Local children's centers provide comprehensive welfare services such as protection, education and counseling, and healthy play for children who need after-school care.

This year, in October, a selection committee was held to support the environment improvement fund for 'Nanuri Local Children's Center' located in Siheung 5-dong. Nanuri Local Children's Center was in need of space improvement due to insufficient sewage treatment space causing water overflow, and the counseling area and administrative office were not separated.

Nanuri Local Children's Center was transformed into a pleasant care facility through ▲ kitchen floor vinyl flooring work ▲ securing a child counseling space in the office ▲ repair and maintenance of the program room and kitchen sewage treatment space.

Yoo Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "I was worried because many children live in poor environments, but I am glad that it has changed into such a bright and pleasant space," and added, "We will continue to strive to create local children's centers where children, our future, can live safely."
