[AI Revolution](87) Managing Carbon Emissions with AI... Ohhudusi Lab

Carbon neutrality as a response to climate change is emerging as a global issue. Carbon neutrality declarations and regulations are being implemented one after another in countries around the world, and with the institutionalization of ESG-related measures, managing carbon emissions has become a necessity rather than a choice for export companies. When regulations fully take effect in 2026, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that are not prepared for carbon neutrality could face an unprecedented situation where their export routes are cut off overnight. However, the domestic carbon neutrality market is still in its infancy, and it is practically difficult for individual companies to respond to the various reporting obligations required by different countries and corporations.

Amid this, a domestic company has attracted attention by developing a solution that allows anyone?from corporations to small business owners and individuals?to easily manage carbon emissions using artificial intelligence (AI). This is the earth-tech startup 'Ohu Dusi Lab.' It is leading the popularization of carbon management by supporting SMEs, which were previously in the blind spots of carbon management, to calculate their carbon emissions.

The business areas are broadly divided into four: carbon neutrality platform, hyperlocal mobile service, industrial AI, and renewable energy. They are conducting various technology projects such as the AI-based carbon neutrality SaaS platform 'Greenflow,' which allows SMEs, small business owners, and individuals to easily manage their carbon footprint; the renewable energy solution 'Marine IoT'; and the industrial AI solution 'Responsible AI.'

Seol Su-gyeong, co-CEO of Ohu Dusi Lab, introduced the company by saying, "New regulatory areas that companies must respond to are emerging in line with the movements of global regulatory agencies, but the reality in Korea is that the entry barrier to carbon neutrality is still high." She added, "Our ultimate goal is to innovate the climate technology market through the organic connection of each technology and service."

The company's flagship service is Greenflow. It is an AI-based carbon neutrality SaaS platform that provides one-stop support from measuring carbon emissions to reporting and suggesting reduction measures. It features full automation that allows users to check carbon emissions with just a few clicks. In as little as a few minutes, companies can see their carbon emission figures at a glance.

Greenflow is composed of three membership levels according to the company's carbon management stage: Starter, Basic, and Pro. The Starter membership allows anyone to easily and quickly calculate emissions by checking the proportions of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions with data from just five items.

The Basic membership features a convenient Q&A style calculation method and provides intuitive analysis of total carbon emissions through a dashboard. Although there is no disclosure obligation, it is suitable for companies that want continuous carbon management. The Pro membership supports detailed input and management of emission sources, enabling effective response to climate disclosure and reduction targets.

The technology applied to Greenflow is also noteworthy. The patented 'cost-based carbon emission measurement technology' covers direct emissions (Scope 1) from fossil fuels and indirect emissions (Scope 2) through energy such as electricity, supporting easy and diverse data input formats, fast calculation, and data verification.

Even the most challenging area, other carbon emissions across all corporate activities (Scope 3), can be easily calculated using only the company's tax and accounting data through Ohu Dusi Lab's proprietary cost segmentation algorithm and standardization techniques.

Oh Gwang-myeong, co-CEO, said, "Using AI clustering technology, we monitor and compare carbon emissions by corporate groups to detect abnormal emissions or provide effective diagnostics." He added, "In the future, we plan to sequentially release supply chain data interpretation and automatic response functions."

Ohu Dusi Lab is also collaborating with various partners to expand the carbon neutrality ecosystem. Currently, it is cooperating with various companies such as Hyphen Corporation, Polled, MetaCamp, Hyojin E&High, and Ecobel to promote low-carbon transitions in industrial structures. They plan to advance solutions that encompass not only understanding each company's carbon emission data but also developing carbon neutrality technologies and content optimized for each industry sector.

CEO Seol said, "We plan to expand our partnership network to various fields including steel, finance, and government-affiliated organizations to spread the carbon neutrality ecosystem." She added, "In particular, we will closely examine the status of SMEs that find it difficult to respond to carbon neutrality on their own and actively propose cooperation measures to lead the establishment of a domestic carbon neutrality response system and strengthen networks."
