Both Lee Kyung, former standing deputy spokesperson of the Democratic Party of Korea, and the prosecution appealed the verdict that sentenced Lee to a fine on charges of retaliatory driving.
According to the legal community on the 21st, the prosecution submitted an appeal to the Criminal Division 11 of the Seoul Southern District Court the day before. Lee's side had already filed an appeal earlier on the 19th.

Lee was prosecuted on charges of repeatedly braking abruptly after a car behind him honked and flashed high beams when he changed lanes while driving in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, around 10 p.m. on November 12, 2021.
Lee claimed in court that it was not him but a designated driver who was driving at the time, but this was not accepted. On the 15th, he was sentenced to a fine of 5 million won.
The Democratic Party's Central Election Verification Committee ruled Lee ineligible as a candidate for the general election due to his criminal record.
Meanwhile, Lee appeared on a YouTube channel and denied the charges, saying, "At 10 p.m., would I be scared of a female driver and retaliate after finding out who she is?"
