The sixth vehicle handover ceremony was held on the 12th (local time) at Viminale Square in front of the Ministry of the Interior in Rome, Italy. At the event, Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman of Automobili Lamborghini, handed over the keys of the Urus Performante special police vehicle to Matteo Piantedosi, Italy’s Minister of the Interior. Winkelmann said, "It is a proud moment for both the company and our employees that our vehicles are being used for public service and, above all, to save lives."

The Urus Performante delivered to the police was specially customized according to police guidelines. The vehicle’s exterior features the classic blue and white colors of the Italian police, with the three colors of the Italian flag highlighted on the door and belt point lines. Additionally, a 360-degree blue LED light bar and an electric siren are installed on the roof.

The driver’s seat is equipped with a weapon storage box and a flip-down message display. The trunk contains various equipment including a defibrillator for emergency treatment, as well as a portable refrigerator essential for emergency medical transport such as organ delivery.

The Urus Performante is powered by a V8 twin-turbo engine, achieving 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in just 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 306 km/h. The base price of the Lamborghini Urus Performante in South Korea is 328.9 million KRW.

Meanwhile, Italy is not the only country to introduce luxury supercars as police vehicles. Last year, the Qatar police introduced the Lamborghini Urus Super, priced around 300 million KRW, as a new police car for security during the Qatar World Cup. Prior to this, the Qatar police also owned Lamborghini Gallardo, Porsche Panamera, and Cayenne models.

The Dubai police, part of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) emirates, are also famous for using various expensive supercars as police vehicles. They use several models including the Lamborghini Urus, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Aston Martin as police cars.
