Changwon Special City Hosts the '2023 Disabled Sports Awards Ceremony'

20 Meritorious Persons Awarded Commendations

On the 21st, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the '2023 Changwon Special City Disabled Sports Awards Ceremony' at the City Hall Citizen Hall.

The ceremony began with an emotional performance by the 'Miso Performance Group,' composed of individuals with developmental disabilities. Twenty contributors who contributed to the development of disabled sports in Changwon City throughout 2023 received awards amid congratulations from many guests: the Mayor's Commendation (7 people), the Disabled Sports Association President's Commendation (6 people), and the City Council Chairperson's Commendation (7 people).

Changwon Mayor Hong Nampyo is giving a thank-you speech at the '2023 Changwon Special City Disabled Sports Awards Ceremony' held on the 21st.

Thanks to the dedication of these contributors and the efforts of the Changwon Disabled Sports Association and related organizations, the city’s athletes achieved runner-up at the '26th Gyeongsangnam-do Disabled Life Sports Competition.'

The city spared no support for revitalizing disabled sports, including the successful hosting of the '2nd Changwon Special City Mayor's Cup Disabled Life Sports Competition' and the '2023 Eoullim Walking Festival.'

Mayor Hong Nam-pyo said, “I extend my congratulations and gratitude to the awardees who have worked hard for the development of disabled sports in the city,” adding, “We will strive to create an environment where all citizens, regardless of disability, can enjoy sports activities without restrictions of time and place.”
