Jeon Seung-il, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Council, announced on the 21st that he received the Best Basic Council Award at the ‘2023 Korea Local Autonomy Evaluation-linked Legislative Policy Awards’ hosted by the Yeouido Policy Research Institute.
The Yeouido Policy Research Institute has been holding the ‘Local Autonomy Evaluation Legislative Policy Awards’ annually since 2017 to select outstanding council members who have implemented resident happiness policies to revitalize local autonomy.
Councilor Jeon received high marks for his legislative activities through practical efforts for political reform and moral restoration, including being the first nationwide to enact the 'Ordinance on Sharing Cars Equipped with Wheelchair Boarding Facilities for the Mobility-Impaired' to serve the local community.
Councilor Jeon said, "I am pleased to have my legislative activities, which are rightfully done by listening to residents' opinions, recognized. I will work even harder with responsible legislative activities to promote residents' welfare, serve the local community, and contribute to improving residents' lives and regional development."
