Integrated Management Platform for Digitizing Dong Administrative Data: Real-Time Disaster Monitoring and Efficient Field Response Enhanced by Data Integration with Gangnam District's Data Platform, Creating a Comprehensive Smart Administration System at the Dong Level
Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) has established the 'Smart Gangnam Dongjang Room' in 22 community centers nationwide for the first time, and after a pilot operation in December, it will be fully operational from January next year.
The Smart Gangnam Dongjang Room is a digital status board (75 inches, 171×102cm) that allows a comprehensive view of the current status of each dong (neighborhood). Previously managed manually, the dong status board data has been digitized to quickly check various data through screen touch and easily update information. Additionally, by linking with the Data Gangnam Platform, which provides an overview of district administration data, an integrated management platform specialized for dong operations has been established, containing real-time traffic conditions, disaster situations, CCTV, and various facility information for each dong.
Composed of 9 menus... transforming manually managed dong administrative data into a digital platform
The Smart Gangnam Dongjang Room consists of 9 menus. ▲ The main screen, 'Dong Status,' summarizes basic information such as real-time disaster and traffic conditions, area, population, welfare recipients, and major facilities. ▲ The 'Disaster Safety' menu links with Seoul City's real-time data to check real-time statuses such as disaster accidents, road traffic, river water levels, and safety facilities like pump stations, rainwater inlets, snow removal boxes, and child protection zones. ▲ The 'Living Map' menu displays various living information on a map, including resident population, daytime population, housing construction status such as reconstruction, shade shelters, and heat relief shelters.
Additionally, there are ▲ 'Progress Status,' which shows the status and photos of dong projects on the screen ▲ 'Organization Status,' managing various functional groups ▲ 'Welcome Board,' which can be used as a banner function for events and handover ceremonies ▲ 'Schedule Management' ▲ 'Video Conference' ▲ and 'Election Work' functions.
Reduced paperwork and faster on-site response through real-time information updates
This enables each dong to handle tasks more smartly. In particular, the digital status board allows real-time alerts of disaster situations and the ability to check nearby CCTV, enabling quick on-site responses in cooperation with related agencies.
Also, reflecting the characteristic of dongs that conduct frequent field patrols, facility information can be managed via mobile devices. When a facility managed by data is found, it can be photographed on-site with a smartphone and uploaded to the administrator page, which is automatically reflected on the status board map in the Dongjang Room.
Furthermore, with real-time data linkage, unnecessary paperwork is expected to decrease. The district office and dongs, as well as between dongs, can utilize this platform for work and collaboration. Residents can also be effectively informed about major dong projects, policies, and statuses using digital screens instead of paperwork.
Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, “By completing a digital platform not only at the district office but also at the frontline dongs, we have established an advanced smart administrative system,” and added, “Through this, we expect to improve staff work efficiency and enhance residents' convenience.”
