Everyone Can Join the 'Sinchon Proposal Event' and 'Sinchon Again 2024 Street Karaoke'

Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) will hold the 'Sinchon Countdown Concert' at Sinchon Yonsei-ro Star Square from 10 PM on December 31, the last day of this year, until 12:30 AM on January 1, the first day of the new year.

This event, held for the second time following last year, carries the subtitle "Sinchon, Fall in Love at First Sight," which means that men and women meet and fall in love at first sight in Sinchon, and also that attendees of the Sinchon Countdown Concert can see the first snow of the new year.

First, from 10 PM on the 31st for 30 minutes, the 'Sinchon Proposal Event' will take place, where citizens express love to their partners, gratitude to their families, and friendship and comfort to their friends through songs.

Then, for two hours until 12:30 AM the next day, dance team 'AfroKorea,' band 'Eodideun Project,' DJ 'SEFO,' and band 'Romantic Punch' will perform, providing an enjoyable show for the audience.

Especially around midnight, a countdown ceremony and New Year's welcoming ceremony will be held, during which confetti and the first snow of the new year (artificial snow) will decorate the sky.

Prior to this event, from 5 PM to 8 PM on the 31st, at the same location, a 'Sinchon Again 2024 Street Karaoke' will be held in collaboration with YouTuber 'Changhyun,' allowing citizens to participate. This performance will be broadcast live on YouTube.

By referring to the announcements on the Seodaemun-gu Office website and applying in advance, the first 300 people can receive scarves at the event site. For parking, the 24-hour Yonsei University Baekyang-ro underground parking lot can be used for a fee.

Lee Seong-heon, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said, "At the time of bidding farewell to the old year and welcoming the new year, the Sinchon street will offer wonderful memories," and added, "I hope many people will enjoy the various events prepared with a heart of gratitude and hope for the new year."
