[Tomorrow's Weather] Nationwide Severe Cold... Most Areas Under Cold Wave Advisory

On Thursday the 21st, temperatures across the country will drop sharply, making it very cold. Morning low temperatures are forecasted to be between -20 and -4 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs between -9 and 2 degrees Celsius.

On this day, a cold wave warning will be in effect for most regions nationwide, and snow is also expected.

The snowfall that began on the 20th will continue until 6 a.m. on the 21st in Incheon, southwestern Gyeonggi, and central-southern Chungbuk; until noon in inland Chungnam; and until the 22nd in other areas. The expected snowfall over the two days of the 20th and 21st is 1?5 cm in the Seoul metropolitan area, 3?8 cm in Sejong, inland Chungnam (excluding southeastern inland), and eastern Jeonbuk. Eastern Jeonnam (excluding the eastern southern coast) will receive 2?7 cm, and Daejeon, southeastern inland Chungnam, central-southern Chungbuk, and the eastern southern coast of Jeonnam will see 1?3 cm of snow. The Chungcheong region is forecasted to receive 5?15 cm, western Jeonbuk 5?30 cm, Gwangju and western Jeonnam 5?20 cm, eastern Jeonnam 2?7 cm, and Ulleungdo and Dokdo 10?30 cm of snow.

In Jeju, the eastern and mid-mountain areas are expected to receive 10?20 cm, and coastal areas except the east will get 5?10 cm of snow. The mountainous areas of Jeju Island are forecasted to receive heavy snowfall of 30?50 cm over three days until the 22nd, requiring special caution.

In areas with heavy snowfall such as the western coast of Chungnam, Jeolla region, and Jeju Island, accumulated snow may cause weak structures to collapse, so safety precautions are necessary.

Strong winds will also blow on this day, making the wind chill temperature even lower and the cold more severe. Starting with the seas off Incheon and Gyeonggi, most seas will have high wave warnings issued, so caution is needed to prevent maritime accidents.
