The 'Asia AI Awards,' held for the first time this year, began as a meeting between companies and the media who share the recognition that artificial intelligence (AI) technology is a key driver that will transform our nation. This awards ceremony was planned to move forward as partners in nurturing the industrial ecosystem together and advancing the national economy.
More than 80 companies have participated in the 'AI Revolution' series planned by Asia Economy. Among them, about 40 companies expressed their intention to participate in the AAA Awards ceremony. Many companies, regardless of size or sector, including large corporations such as Kakao, Naver, and KT, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises and startups, joined in.
The judging committee included various judges from industry, academia, and research, such as Hwang Dong-hyun, co-chairman of the Korea SW·ICT Federation and chair of the judging committee; Professor Park Seong-pil of KAIST; Professor Yu Sang-mi of Hansung University; Lee Seong-rae, team leader of the Korea Artificial Intelligence Association; and Hong Kyung-pyo, CEO of Mark & Company, a TIPS operator.
The judging panel evaluated each company’s submitted achievements based on five criteria: creativity, innovation, marketability, impact, and recognition. Award-winning companies were selected through professional and fair evaluation.
Under the name of the Chairperson of the National Assembly’s Science, Technology, Information and Communications Committee, two companies with the most outstanding AI technological innovation were awarded the 'Technology Innovation Award.'
Two platform companies that improved the quality of life for citizens and enhanced business productivity received the 'Smart Platform Award' under the name of the Chairperson of the Digital Platform Government Committee.
Three companies, united by entrepreneurship and boldness with promising growth potential, were awarded the 'Excellent Startup Award,' presented by the Chairman of the Korea Venture Business Association.
Companies leading cooperation between large and small-medium enterprises and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management, and expanding fair opportunities, were respectively awarded the Open Innovation Award and the Fair Tech Award under the name of the CEO of Asia Economy.
