[AAA2023] Chairman Gojin: "We Will Strive to Apply AI Starting from the Public Sector"

"We will strive to apply artificial intelligence (AI) in the public sector." Go Jin, Chairman of the Digital Platform Government Committee, stated that this year, rapidly advancing AI technologies such as generative AI will be applied starting from the public sector.

Chairman Go made this remark at the '2023 Asia AI Awards' ceremony held by Asia Economy on the 20th at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul, adding, "We will continue to support AI so that it contributes to humanity and spreads across various fields."

On this day, Chairman Go first mentioned the developments in the AI field this year. He said, "Generative AI has advanced tremendously over the past year," and added, "Many AI engineers probably did not anticipate such results."

This technological advancement also presents opportunities for AI companies. Chairman Go said, "We are now experiencing AI in everyday life, and investment in fields other than AI is so limited that AI is receiving all the attention," adding, "It is a great time to start a business with AI." He continued, "In November, a government expo was held in Busan with 30,000 participants," and said, "One of the reasons was the booths of companies utilizing AI. This shows the high public expectations for AI."

Chairman Go also emphasized the government's role amid fierce AI competition. He said, "This week, there will be a reporting conference on about 170 AI demonstration projects in the government sector," and added, "The government is also actively working to nurture AI companies."
