Enhancement of Welfare, Revitalization of Local Tourism, etc.
Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) announced on the 19th that it signed a business agreement with the Korail Human Resources Development Institute Gokseong Training Center to improve employee welfare and revitalize local tourism.
The Korail Human Resources Development Institute Gokseong Training Center (hereinafter Korail Gokseong Training Center) is a Korail employee training facility that opened in April. About 90 employees enroll as trainees every week and live there, and it operates as a recreational facility during the summer.
Accordingly, Gokseong-gun signed the business agreement to revitalize local tourism targeting trainees and to improve employee welfare.
According to the agreement, Gokseong-gun will provide up to a 50% discount on admission fees and facility usage fees for the Seomjingang Train Village, a major tourist attraction in Gokseong, and admission fees to the Seomjingang Astronomical Observatory for Korail trainees and their families (up to 4 accompanying family members per trainee).
The Korail Gokseong Training Center agreed to offer discounted usage fees to Gokseong-gun employees when it expands the operation of its own lodging facilities (commercial facilities) to external visitors in the future.
Lee Sang-cheol, Governor of Gokseong-gun, said, “We expect the Korail Gokseong Training Center to play a significant role in regional development. We will continue to discuss win-win measures to attract trainees to Gokseong-eup and major tourist sites and to revitalize the local economy and tourism.”
