Pyeongtaek City Signs Business Agreement with 8 Major Construction Companies to Revitalize the Construction Industry

Expansion of Local Business Participation and Employment of Local Workforce Collaboration

Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 20th that it has signed a 'Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Revitalization of the Construction Industry' with eight large and medium-sized construction companies planning to build apartment complexes and other multi-family housing in the region.

The agreement involved Geumseong Baekjo Construction, Daekwang Geonyeong, Daewoo Construction, Dongmun Construction, Ssangyong Construction, Seohee Construction, Junheung Togeon, and Hyosung Heavy Industries. Seven local organizations, including the Regional Construction Association, Pyeongtaek Chamber of Commerce, and Pyeongtaek Urban Corporation, also attended the signing ceremony.


Through the agreement, the city and the construction industry agreed on ▲ expanding opportunities for local companies to participate ▲ using locally produced materials and equipment ▲ employing local workforce ▲ administrative cooperation and support during project implementation to revitalize the construction industry and promote mutual cooperation.


Pyeongtaek City has enacted the 'Ordinance to Support the Revitalization of the Local Construction Industry' to encourage participation of local companies in all areas such as subcontracting, materials, workforce, and equipment at large construction sites within the city.


Jung Jang-seon, Mayor of Pyeongtaek, expressed his expectation that "an increase in local company participation in many construction sites will strengthen the competitiveness of local companies and revitalize the construction industry."
