Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do is achieving remarkable awards this year in various evaluations, including the comprehensive evaluation of agricultural administration.
The county announced on the 20th that it won the Excellence Award in this year’s ‘Jeollanam-do Agricultural Administration Comprehensive Evaluation.’

The comprehensive evaluation of agricultural administration is conducted annually to discover new policies across the agricultural sector and to enhance the synergistic effects of project implementation.
The county recorded high scores in the evaluation of 41 items across six fields by achieving results such as ▲systematic maintenance of farmland registers ▲promotion of women farmers ▲encouragement of non-rice crop cultivation ▲expansion of facility horticulture cultivation area and fostering young farmers ▲development of green livestock farms.
It also received the Excellence Award in the food and horticulture sector and the Encouragement Award in the livestock policy evaluation.
The county was also named the best city/county in the ‘2023 Jeollanam-do Agricultural Food Distribution Performance Evaluation.’
This evaluation comprehensively assessed 14 items in four areas including the successful operation of the Jangseong Local Food Advanced Direct Store, which surpassed 13 billion KRW in sales within just over a year of opening, ▲activation of agricultural specialty product distribution ▲promotion of the agricultural food industry ▲rice sales performance and development of high-quality brand rice ▲strengthening agricultural product safety.
The county expanded sales channels for local agricultural products and effectively promoted the excellence of ingredients through the establishment of the online shopping mall ‘Jangseong Mall,’ a pledge of the 8th local government administration.
It also signed a win-win agreement with CJ Foodville and is actively collaborating through events such as the ‘Local Win-Win Gala Dinner’ and product development. This award continued the county’s record of winning the agricultural food distribution performance evaluation for five consecutive years.
Jangseong-gun also won the Excellence Award in the ‘2023 Jeollanam-do Rural Development Project Comprehensive Evaluation’ hosted by the Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services.
High evaluations were given for efforts focused on agricultural field technology dissemination and competitiveness enhancement, including ▲response to agricultural disasters and fine dust reduction ▲systematic fostering of young farmers ▲technical education by farmers’ learning groups and by crop item ▲development of a lemon cultivation complex as a regionally specialized crop.
Additionally, the county was recognized for contributing to the spread of leading agricultural technologies and the development of human resources in agriculture and rural areas, being selected as an ‘Excellent Institution for Education and Training in 2023,’ and individual awards were also recorded, including commendations for public officials promoting rural guidance projects.
County Governor Kim Han-jong said, “Despite difficult conditions, farmers and public officials did their best to achieve abundant results. We will use this year’s achievements as a stepping stone to establish ourselves as leading agricultural workers in the agricultural sector and continue to strive to improve farm household incomes.”
