Kim Kwang-yeol, Yeongdeok County Governor, Receives 'Mokmin Appreciation Plaque' for Outstanding Small Business Policies

Recognition for Protecting and Supporting Small Business Owners' Rights, Sole Selection at the County Level

Kim Kwang-yeol, the governor of Yeongdeok County, was awarded the Mokmin Audit Plaque as an outstanding local government head for small business policies at the ‘2023 Chojung Grand Prize and Mokmin Audit Plaque Award Ceremony’ held on the 19th at the Fairmont Ambassador Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul.

The event, hosted by the Small Enterprise and Market Service (President Oh Se-hee), a statutory economic organization, has been held since 2016 and is now in its 7th year. It honors members of the National Assembly with the Chojung Grand Prize and local government heads with the Mokmin Audit Plaque for their contributions to protecting the rights of local small business owners and establishing support systems, inspired by the Mokmin spirit of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong.


Governor Kim actively promoted various policies supporting small business owners, including the ‘Special Guarantee for Small Business Owners’ to reduce loan burdens for low-credit small business owners, the market revitalization project ‘Traditional Market Love Tour,’ the ‘Ontact Business Support Project’ to assist small business owners with online sales, and the activation of the local currency ‘Yeongdeok Love Gift Certificate.’ His achievements were recognized with this award.


This year, 14 recipients were selected for the Chojung Grand Prize and 9 for the Mokmin Audit Plaque, with Governor Kim being the only county-level local government head to receive the honor.


Governor Kim Kwang-yeol pledged, “Small business owners in the region have faced prolonged difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the global economic downturn. Next year, I will earnestly implement policies that resonate with small business owners, including resolving various pending issues, expanding support systems, and protecting their rights, so they can move forward into the future with a stronger and more fulfilling outlook.”
