"Body Lotion, Significant Differences in Moisturizing Power and Price Among Products"

Very Excellent Moisturizing Power of Happy Bath Products
On the Price Aspect, On The Body is the Most Affordable

Among the top 10 body lotion products preferred by consumers in Korea, significant differences were found in their core functions of moisturizing ability and price.


The Korea Consumer Agency announced on the 20th that it conducted a survey on body lotion preferences and tested and evaluated the performance of the top 10 products, confirming these findings. While there was little difference in the feel of use among the top 10 products, differences were observed in moisturizing ability and price.

All 10 products increased the skin's moisture content after application, but differences appeared in moisture content 2 hours later depending on the product. Amorepacific's 'Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Lotion' and 'Happy Bath Truly Moisturizing Body Milk' received a 3-star "Very Excellent" rating in moisturizing ability. 'The Body Shop Scented White Musk' received 1 star with a "Good" rating, and the remaining 7 products received 2 stars with an "Excellent" rating.


In terms of price per 100ml, 'On The Body Iris Nourishing' was the cheapest at 3,225 KRW, while 'The Body Shop Scented White Musk' was the most expensive at 8,000 KRW, showing a maximum difference of 2.5 times. The 100ml price of Illiyoon, which received the "Very Excellent" rating in moisturizing ability, was 5,114 KRW, and Happy Bath's was 3,450 KRW per 100ml.


The survey evaluation of the feel of use on a 5-point scale showed little difference between products. In the usage survey results, Happy Bath's product received the highest scores with 4.2 points for spreadability and 4.0 points for moisture. Additionally, all products met standards for safety regarding heavy metals and preservatives, container durability, and labeling of allergenic ingredients. However, regarding the recyclability of body lotion containers, only Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion received an "Excellent Recycling" rating, 5 products were rated "Average Recycling," and 4 products were rated "Difficult to Recycle."
