Entrepreneurs who have dedicated themselves to AI technology development and digital transformation throughout the year will gather in one place.
Asia Economy will hold the ‘2023 Asia AI Awards’ ceremony at 3 p.m. on the 20th at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul. The event is sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Digital Platform Government Committee, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and the Korea Venture Business Association.
The award candidates are over 80 companies that have participated in the ‘AI Revolution’ series, which has been running since March. These companies include large and small enterprises and startups that strive to develop AI technology and apply it to industries, and have received positive evaluations in the global market.
Awards will be presented in various categories, including the Technology Innovation Award (Chairperson of the National Assembly Science, Technology, Information and Broadcasting Committee Award), Smart Platform Award (Chairperson of the Digital Platform Government Committee Award), Excellent Startup Award (Chairperson of the Korea Venture Business Association Award), Fair Tech Award, and Open Innovation Award (Asia Economy CEO Award).
A panel of five judges composed of IT experts from academia, industry, and research institutes fairly evaluated and selected the winning companies based on various criteria such as creativity, innovation, and impact.
Not only large corporations leading the industry through independent AI technology development but also platform companies that have improved the quality of life for the public and productivity for businesses, as well as startups showing promising future potential, were selected as awardees.
Reflecting the changing industrial landscape where ESG (environment, social, governance) management is becoming increasingly important alongside corporate profit-seeking, the Fair Tech Award-winning companies were chosen. Additionally, companies actively engaging in open innovation, based on the idea that comprehensive ‘collaboration’ is the way to survive competition with global big tech firms on the international stage, will also be recognized.
Chairperson Ko Jin of the Digital Platform Government Committee, along with officials from the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Korea Venture Business Association, and private entrepreneurs from large, small, and startup companies, will attend to encourage each other’s efforts and discuss prospects for the industry in 2024.
