Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, signed a friendship exchange business agreement with Hwasun-gun, Jeonnam Province, on the 19th at Daegaya Hall.
The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Nam-cheol, Mayor of Goryeong-gun, Koo Bok-gyu, Mayor of Hwasun-gun, and Kim Myung-guk, Chairman of the Goryeong County Council. The two cities aimed for mutual development through cooperation, including signing the agreement between local governments and exchanging commemorative gifts.
The two cities agreed to promote cooperation in ▲ revitalizing tourism and cultural arts ▲ promoting and expanding sales channels for agricultural and specialty products ▲ responding to local extinction and activating hometown love donations ▲ and enhancing youth historical and cultural experiences.
Mayor Lee Nam-cheol stated, “Amid challenges such as decreased tax revenue and grants, local extinction, and population decline, through this MOU, we will open the door to the local era by fostering mutual cooperation in various fields such as economy, historical culture, welfare, and empathetic administration for the win-win development of the two cities.”
Through this agreement, Goryeong-gun plans to revitalize regional tourism by promoting visits to events and festivals utilizing UNESCO cultural heritage sites in both regions, and actively cooperate and support each other for the mutual development of the two local governments by sharing and collaborating on various common interests.
