Jojonghun: "Han Donghoon, Political Sense More Sophisticated Than Just Dressing Well"

"We Must Use All the Cards We Can"

As the People Power Party is engaged in heated debates over the 'Han Dong-hoon Emergency Committee Endorsement Theory,' Assemblyman Cho Jung-hoon, who recently joined the party, stated, "It is right to use the maximum card we can."

On the 20th, Assemblyman Cho appeared on BBS Radio's 'Jeon Young-shin's Morning Journal' and said, "On January 1st next year, numerous media outlets will release forecasts and poll results regarding the general election," adding, "These poll results will largely remain unchanged until April 10th, but if the results are very unfavorable, it could greatly discourage the People Power Party."

He continued, "Especially candidates preparing in competitive districts may become discouraged," and expressed concern, saying, "Without a dramatic turning point, the January 1st poll results will heavily weigh down our efforts until April 30th."

Regarding the controversy that the 'Han Dong-hoon Emergency Committee is inappropriate' due to Minister Han's lack of political experience, he retorted, "Considering his one and a half years of service as a political appointee in the Ministry of Justice, his speeches in the National Assembly, his activities in standing committees and plenary sessions, and his recent various moves, how many people would truly believe that Minister Han has no political sense?" He added, "Beyond a stylish demeanor, a new face, and dressing well, he has occasionally shown traces of very sophisticated political sensibility."

In response to criticism that Minister Han is close to President Yoon Seok-yeol and thus cannot correct the vertical party-government relationship, he said, "I think this is probably the part Minister Han worries about the most," adding, "It cannot be denied that there is a special relationship with the government."

However, he noted, "Minister Han, during his time as a prosecutor, when told by those around him to wrap up certain investigations at a certain point, would continue the investigation if it did not align with his convictions, and stop when he thought it was not right," adding, "The key point to watch is whether he can quickly show the public that the party-government relationship is moving from a vertical one to a constructive tension."
