Held on the 20th at the Industry-Academic Cooperation Building, Seeking Connections Between Investors and Private Companies

The Global Startup Support Project Performance Presentation was held on the 20th at the Market Hall of the UNIST Industry-Academic Cooperation Building.

The event was organized to share the achievements of the ‘Ulsan-UN Urban Problem Solving Startup Competition’ and the ‘Global Growth and Expansion Startup Support Project,’ operated by UNIST with support from Ulsan City, and to expand cooperation opportunities with investors and private companies.

At the event, award-winning teams from the ‘Ulsan-UN Urban Problem Solving Startup Competition,’ 20 startups participating in the ‘Global Growth and Expansion Startup Support Project,’ and partner organizations such as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Federation of United Nations Associations attended.

They shared know-how on technology management for startup growth and engaged in active exchanges, discussing challenges related to startup activities in the region.

Investors including Ascendo Ventures, Fast Ventures, Timeworks Investment, and the Korea Angel Investment Association also attended, showing interest in promising technologies of startup companies.

Plans to add private company support to the projects operated by UNIST and Ulsan City were also explored. Discussions were held on linking startups in the environment and energy sectors supported by both institutions with SK Ecoplant’s startup discovery program.

Three companies, TerraBio Co., Ltd., CEBB Science Co., Ltd., and Seohong Tech Co., Ltd., directly presented their project achievements and technologies. TerraBio Co., Ltd. specializes in eco-friendly food waste treatment technology, and CEBB Science Co., Ltd., which uses graphene material technology, was an award-winning company at the ‘Ulsan-UN Urban Problem Solving Startup Competition’ held in June. Seohong Tech Co., Ltd. is supported by the Global Growth and Expansion Startup Support Project and possesses a pressure ulcer prevention solution utilizing IoT technology.

Ulsan City Council member Kim Jong-hoon also attended the event and discussed the activation of the startup ecosystem in the Ulsan region with the participants.

The head of the Ulsan City Corporate Support Division, who supported this event, said, “We will continue to actively discover and nurture many startups in cooperation with UNIST so that startups with excellent technologies can inject new growth engines into the region and ultimately create global achievements.”
